  1. We will know after the Hopkins fight.  Bernard is a serious step up for Calzaghe, we will see how he responds.  Seven years is a lot to make up, the age factor weighs heavily in Joe's favor.  I say Calzaghe out works Hopkins for the decision.

  2. no way calzaghe will beat grandad hopkins no problem i think hes too fast and too good for  him

  3. You hit the nail on the head.  Hopkins by TKO in the 9th.

  4. no way, Calzaghe will school Hopkins. Calzaghes just to good and has way to much speed and work rate for Hopkins to last. I predict a late round knockout for Calzaghe, also i believe Calzaghe is the second best fighter in the world behind Mayweather.

  5. calzaghe will win on points or late stoppage

  6. I cant see Calzaghe loseing to Hopkins and you cant really compare him to Macrenelli and Rees. Rees is a decent enough fighter but to be honest was lucky to win a world title. He didnt really deserve a title shot in the first place and was in the right place at the right time as M, baye had a real off night. Despite holding a legit version of the world title you never heard Warren calling out the other top light welterweights like Hatton, Witter, Malinaggi and Torres as he knew they would all have Rees number.

Enzo is still one of the top cruiserweights but relys alot on his power he has good skills but not the best and his defense can be a bit dodgy at times but i think he will come back and regain a version of the world title soon enough.

Calzaghe has proven himself to be the best super middleweight in the world bar none. He has great boxing skills a decent punch and good solid chin. Hes fighting one of the best in Hopkins but i still cant see him going the same way as Rees or Macrenelli, i expect him to beat Hopkins unanimously on points.

  7. Not that it'll happen, but even if Joe were to lose to BHop, he wouldn't fade into nothingness, if that's what you're referring to.  Joe has blown out several fighters that were supposed to give him troubles. . . .and he just goes about his business.  Thing is. . . his invincibility and status isn't really based on his "undefeated record". . . .it's about his tenacity, endurance, and stamina in these 12 round battles.

There are fighters that hide behind their records. . . "I haven't been beaten, so I deserve the world". . . . Floyd is one of those.  Joe Calzaghe is more of a "I will beat you, period."  I find his style much more pleasing to watch, and his fights much more exciting than Floyd's.

Calzaghe is going to retire Bernard.
