Will he, and how will he do so?

What requirements does he have to meet.

I know its something like he cannot make more than 7 starts, or something along those lines.

  1. If your talking about in Sprint Cup it is either 5 or 7 races. I haven't heard anything about him running Sprint Cup races this season, but that would be awesome. I hope next year he runs a full schedule under JGR and kicks butt like Denny Hamlin did his first full season!

  2. No, he has not met the requirements to do so..maybe nest year....

  3. no

  4. He will be next year if he get moved up to the Cup series.  Which there is already lots of speculation about, the thinking behind this is Tony Stewart will find a new ride next year which will leave the #20 car open for Logano.

  5. nope. he fails at least one of the requirements (#3 below in particular) - he will only have run in seven races by the 20th race in the season.

because he will run more than seven nationwide races this season, he will not be eligible to run for ROTY next year either, at least not in the nationwide series.

of course, he could still run a few sprint cup races this year (less than 7) and be eligible for ROTY in the cup series next year, should he move up.

    Eligibility

Drivers must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to run for or receive the Rookie of the Year award.

       1. Must have run no more than seven races in any previous season.

       2. Drivers who compete in more than five races in a higher series are not eligible for the award in a lower series.

       3. If a driver does not start eight races before the end of Race 20 on the schedule, they will immediately become ineligible to earn rookie points for the rest of that season. The seven-race-limit still applies pertaining to eligibility for future attempts.

       4. A driver may NOT receive rookie points if he/she starts a race for a team that he/she did not qualify with. However, he/she is still eligible for championship points in that race.
