Question:

Will John McCain blame every gaffe from now until the election on his POW experience?

Although I admire him for his service, I think he is now becoming a professional POW. He blamed his experience on why he cheated on his first wife, and now he is blaming it for not recalling how many homes he owns. Do you think it is wise of him to continue down this road?

  1. McCain plays up his POW experience for maximum impact. Read from a fellow POW the truth about his experience in captivity. They didn't call him "songbird" for nothing...

  2. I have never heard McCain use his time as a POW for anything. Do a Little researching.

  3. Only if he's garnering for the sympathy vote. But outside of that? McCain's just using his service as a shield against the real issues which have affected Americans the most.

He thinks that if he can portray himself as the 'victim' he can get into the White House.

  4. "I'm going to campaign in all 57 states"

That's all fifty seven states! Is there a sixth grader in this country that does not know there are only 50 states and its been that way for nearly 50 years?

  5. “The insinuation from the Obama campaign that John McCain, a former prisoner of war, {will blame every gaffe from now until the election on his POW experience} is outrageous,” Ms. Wallace said.

  6. I have not seen mcCain making a big deal about his POW status. the only people doing that are the ones opposing him. If anything he has underplayed the whole time in his life.

  7. No - but then I don't think it was wise of him to start.  This means whenever he screws up as president (like getting us in a war with Korea or China or wherever he wants to attack next) he will be like, Ooops I was a POW.  If you are damaged because of being a POW you should not be president.  I respect his sacrifice but I wouldn't elect a person suffering from schizophrenia or Alzheimer's to the presidency and hence I don't think we should elect someone with PTSD to the presidency.

  8. well, hey, if a majority of the people voting are easily swayed by this tactic then i guess its legal. Personally there are alot of personaly experiences a person could have in their lives that have nothing to do with being the president of the united states. It all comes down to how well you get the d**n job done.

  9. He isn't using his POW status as an excuse for anything. Find me one human being who doesn't find themselves making "gaffes" all the time. He is human!!!!

  10. What about obama's gaffes? Obama probably has more gaffes then McCain.

  11. PTSD

  12. WTF is a "gaffe"?

  13. I just hope that if he does get elected, he doesn't have a flashback while standing close to the red button.

  14. Although I will vote for Obama, I'll give him a pass on this...

  15. Don't EVER question John McCain, a former POW!

  16. He didn't blame this housing thing on his captivity.

It's just an attempt to spin a big deal out of nothing.

  17. As soon as Barry Soetoro stops using his race

  18. mccain's handlers are always bringing up his p.o.w. experience and yes they even brought it up in his I can't remember how many houses I own. He or his staff are always bring up his p.o.w. experience as if what happened 40 years now qualifies him for president. Wonder if that qualifies every p.o.w. for president?

  19. McCain and the media want everyone to think that he was the only pow in Vietnam and that  he is the only hero in this country . McCain have   use his pow status  as a shield for every gaffe he made but his free ride with the media have come to a end .

John was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart for heroism and wounds in combat. This heroism has been played up in the press and in his various political campaigns. But it should be known that there were approximately 600 military POW's in Vietnam. Among all of the , decorations awarded have recently been totaled to the following: Medals of Honor - 8, Service Crosses - 42, Silver Stars - 590, Bronze Stars - 958 and Purple Hearts - 1,249. John certainly performed courageously and well. But it must be remembered that he was one hero among many - not uniquely so as his campaigns would have people believe.

  20. I can understand the first one...   so technically the second gaffe is directly related to his divorce.  Had he not of divorced, he never would have married the second wife who bought all the houses.

  21. Small potato's. I'm more concerned about the state of the nation.
