It should go without saying we all feel sorry for the kids, if they lose their mother the chances are they'll never properly recover from it, and I feel sorry for Karen too.

Yes I do think that is possible especially if she was part of whatever went on.

I do not think Shannon was kidnapped. She either ran to the only one who would let her in, OR  they are all in a scam trying to match the McCann saga & make money, even Shannon herself. She had aparently been heard running about up there & laughing & could well have hidden herself in the bed.This isn`t a toddler here, she is of an age where this could be so.

The mother on the other hand may have been fooled by the attentions of this younger man. That kind of scum are known to seek out women with little kids or they become cub masters or work in schools. She may not have known, after all you can only know about a person what they want you to know. Some people are married for years & really think they know the other. Not necessarily so.

All of that aside, I think she knew something of the possible scam, if nothing else.

Well, something was odd in the first place, as when Shannon was found , she was put in the care of social services and not her Mum!! Very strange to me, was that the man who had kidnapped Shannon was the uncle of her stepfather??!! The stepfather is 22 years old!!!!

I think personally, that Karen Matthews is either very naive, or she turned a blind eye to her boyfriend's activities!!!!!!!

i though it was dodgy from the very beginning, and had a feeling the family were involved, apparantly social services arelooking into taking her other children off her according to yahoo news,but on central news tonight it says that craig meehan is still in custody and karen has been reunited with her daughter, so its all confusing,but i thing shannon has said something to officers to give them evidence against craig,i sohope so, the poor child has been through enough,.i would love to see her reunited with her siblings,but not so sure about her mum, i still think she is connected in her disappearance somehow.

you could see from his picture on the telly he was a wrong un, but i hope the woman dont lose the kids unless she knew about what he had on his computer, but i dont think she did

One of my workmates is from that estate and he knows that family.

He says the whole thing was a fake and was a lame attempt to generate the same amount of money that the McCanns have made.

He also says that they are all as thick as feck and should all be sterilized and/or shot.
