  1. He will NEVER fight anyone worth a c**p.  Elite knows he isnt what everyone that watches YouTube thought he was.  He has no fighting skills, he isnt a horrible boxer, but he isnt very good at it.  His ground game was hilarious!  He wouldnt be a bad submission fighter being he is so strong, but he is too slow for that.

  2. He is too old to put in the years of training required to be a good fighter.  If he is serious about actually training and learning the different skills he will improve but he will be average at best.

  3. no because they want him to always look tough and unbeatable

  4. Kimbo is the real deal..

    James Thompson is huge!

And he is not washed up.

That was a huge stepping stone for Kimbo.

It shows 1. Kimbo can take a barrage of strikes.

    Thompson is huge!!

And it shows Kimbo has the heart and the strength .

This is Kimbo's 3rd MMA fight, what are you expecting?

Give Kimbo 5 more fights...He is learning.  He even admitted to being a baby in the sport.

Look at Brock Lesnar, NCA wreslting champ, over powering Mir, but got lazy, and allowed Mir to put an ankle lock on him.

Kimbo needs to learn the ground game more.

  5. i say give him butterball or cabbage.

  6. kimbo died after that fight

he fell down out of breath after the second round of a fight

    he's not gonna make it

  7. he's never going to have the desire to train to the level he wants.  his ego proved that in his fights.  just another brawler that thinks 'street' equals good fighter.  he's so outclassed it's pathetic.

  8. I hope that Kimbo doesn't get another headline fight until he deserves it.  27 million people have watched him fight on Youtube, but he couldn't sell out ARCO arena (17,000 seats)!  He's a sideshow event.

Kimbo didn't impress me this weekend, he just did less horribly than everyone thought.  He's still a brawler with entry level technique.  He should never have been a headline, and that's the sad part about this fight.  I'm sure Lawler and Shields were mortified about their fight being called because of an accidental eye poke.  That was the best fight of the night, and we didn't get to see the end of it.

Watching 2 average fighters gas out after one round is an insult to all the guys who have trained for years.  I'm not saying Kimbo doesn't have heart, I'm saying he shouldn't have been catapulted into a headline fight when there are hundreds of more skilled and more deserving fighters out there.

  9. this is how you build up a fighter.

if you throw ANY fighter to the wolves immediately they will be in real trouble-

we've been doing this in boxing for over a hundred years and it has been no different.

this produces exciting and more evenly matched fights because even from a strict marketing prespective people don't want to pay money to go to an event to have all the nights fights over in 30 min.

its a balancing act- you need to put fighters of relatively equal skill together for a good fight to entertain the crowds. when kimbo gets better and hones his game then he will be put against better fighters, in order to do that he needs to "get his feet wet" against warm ups that are relatively low risk.

  10. not if he want's to stay undefeated....

  11. You talk like kimbo has been training for years and years.  He was just a regular guy then, and now he's a beginner.   He's a rookie.  Think about it.

  12. that depends. can he learn the skills needed to be successful or will he continue to simply be a brawler?

I think the real question is wether or not MMA will survive as a sport in the US after the fiasco and folly of a show produced by CBS and EliteXC.
