Will Kingda Ka be closed the entire day?

We are planning a visit (for the first time in nine years) to Six Flags Great Adventure. However, there is light scattered rain expected and perhaps some thunder storms throughout the day (60% chance). Will the Kingda Ka be closed the entire day? Even if the rain stops for a few hours?

They will not run Kindga Ka in the rain. Not that it can't operate in the rain, but raindrops hitting your face at 128 mph can be painful...

The management of SFGA doesn't want Kingda Ka closed all day any more than you do, but keep in mind that a 450 ft. tall tower of steel is also a huge lightning rod. Safety of the guests is their first concern. They will open the ride when conditions permit.

If it is raining at all they will close down the ride, and it might be closed down all day if there is a chance of thunderstorms because it is a huge metal roller coaster sticking way up into the sky. Chances are that will be the one to be stuck with lightning
