Will Kyle Busch Break the Record for the Most Wins in a Single Cup Season?

He has 8 wins now. There are 14 races left in the season.

He would have to win 6 of those 14 races to break the record. (Modern Era: Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon - 13 wins)

I don't see it happening, but who knows with the season he is having! Just one or two more wins is going to put him up there with some pretty impressive company!

  1. he is just having a good luck this year you never no what might happenend with his record he might break the record if he keeps up the good job

  2. probalby because he is a cheater!

  3. TOTALLY GO KYLE BUSCH<<<333 He is already on his way of breaking the record. I just don't know why everybody hates him. He's a good driver and the most wins so far in this season. Weird Huh?

  4. It would not surprise me at all to see him break that record.

  5. maybe a small shot but there is prolly no way he will win almost half of the rest of the races

  6. i dont think so

    but who am I

  7. I don't think he will push things as hard when they are bunched back together after the chase starts.  Many drivers are racing differently right now than they would if it were just 10 to go.  I think he will win about 3 more races and it will be an incredible season no matter what happens.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  8. He definitely has a shot but I think he will end up with 11 wins

  9. Anything is possible with Kyle and the way his luck is going but 1 or 2 bad races , that would not let him break the record..but here to Kyle whether he gets it or not!!!

  10. If he can keep the momentum up when the chase starts I would say more than likely.

  11. I think it's possible but I don't think it's probable.

  12. I think he will end up with about 10 wins for the year. Its certainly possible.

  13. well is all the other retarded teams including my boys team gem catch up to jgr in engine and body design it wont happen but since i don't see that happening he has a chance but still probably wont cause hes gonna have to worry about points more

  14. he's gonna get his lunch handed to him in the chase

  15. We had 22 races and kyle has won 8 of them. That's a 36% winning percentage. Now if he keeps that pace up for the rest of the season he would end up at 13 wins and tie Richard and Jeff. So i will go with tie them.

  16. He seems to be well on his way.  A tie of 13 would be kool.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  17. It is a possibility, but no guarantee; just entirely too many unexpected events can happen in any given race.  He certainly has had a remarkable performance record this season, is a skillful driver and his car and crew support have been "most cooperative."

  18. Modern era of 13 I do believe he will....but Richard Petty in my book with 27 wins in 1967 will always hold this record. If you think about it he only needs 6 wins to break it. He can and probably will break this record easily. Too good at most of the tracks remaining on this years schedule.

  19. Kyle knows that it all changes during the chase.  He said on Sunday that the points cushion will make it possible to finish 8th instead of 4th in the 10 chase races.  Very mature, not sure he can settle for 2nd, let alone 8th.

I think he'll win three more, not record breaking, but very impressive.

By the way, nascar number one fan, how is he cheating?

  20. He could possibly....I would like to see it.  it isn't as far fetched when you think about it.  Still 6 wins more....it would be tough.

  21. I think he could possibly do it. It won't be easy but he's having that kind of a year.

  22. i think he's got a good chance to tie it, but i think that the chase format (and the loss of his dominating points lead once the points are reset) tends to change the dynamic of the last ten races. when petty and gordon were setting their records, they were so far ahead they could take major chances in order to get another win and not worry about losing their lead in the points. since the chase started, however, drivers have to be more concerned about taking a real chance that might give them a really bad finish.

but who knows - jimmie won four in a row during last year's chase, and kyle has already won at the three of the tracks that are going to be in the chase (dover, talladega, and atlanta). and he finished second at richmond and third at charlotte and texas the first time around this year...
