Will Lebanon ever join the Eurovision contest ?

Israel, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Ajerbikistan all participate in the Eurovision contest and they are NOT in Europe, so why cant Lebanon join ?

  1. lol the Eurovision contest has nothing to do with only European countries participating. Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and many other countries can also join, but they chose not to. Morroco in the 80s used to be a participant. The Eurovision is funded by Europeans and is predominantly European based and influenced, but anyone in North Africa and the Lebantine region of the Middle East has the right to join if they want to.

    As far as i can remeber,  Lebanon chose to participate in 05, but after refusing to show the Israeli entry on Lebanese television,  Lebanon was then forced to withdraw since it was breaking the contests violations that in which all countries should be showed on TV

    Due to the withdrawal, Lebanon served a three-year ban from the Eurovision Song Contest.  It can rejoin the contest in 2009, but if the issue of broadcasting Israeli entries is not resolved, it might not rejoin.


  2. We have on many occasions and  since the 70's.

    We even have a few stars who debuted in Eurovision.
