  1. Because we have to make special Ed programs for Rednecks who think and talk like George Bush .

  2. We spend the most in the Country? or in the World?

Well, NY isn't a very densely populated state, NYC is though  but not as densely populated as my home state of NJ.

Maybe it's because our schools are underfunded because Republicans keep cutting taxes or letting Corporations get away without paying their fair share of taxes(Democrats are guilty of this one too). Maybe it's because of legislation like NCLB which forces our teachers to focus on standardized testing instead of teaching our kids what they need to know and not teaching them what to think, but how to think. Or maybe it's because of Republicans putting a greater value on Religion than on Science as is the case in both s*x Education courses and in Science courses that teach about Evolution.

  3. That nasty flaming liberal Bush and his liberal-controlled Congress  shoved "No Child Left Behind" down our throats.

EDIT: If you already know the answer, why did you ask the question?  If you don't want others' opinions, don't ask for them.

  4. American kids have no motivation to excel.  They have a false self esteem image based on no real ability. They have ignorant gluttonous parents.  They are exposed to an archaic education system which would put any motivated child to sleep.  They have a politicized school system which is only concerned with maintaining its bureaucratic status quo and has not an iota of care for the education or advancement of the academic process.  They live in  a general population which holds education and teachers in the lowest esteem implying to anyone considering teaching that its a fool's job.  That's why your schools are 48.. If that's not the bottom then that number is too high.

  5. I'm Canadian and our kid's standardized testing ranked us higher than America and even the UK.  Why?  I'm not sure.

You guys are taxed like crazy, 30% for the common household that brings in $100 000 annually (or Mum and Dad each bringing in $50 000), yet you don't have healthcare, your schools are failing miserably, and everyone in America is losing their home.  Where the f*ck is all that tax money going?  We get taxed pretty much the same but we have free healthcare, our education system is wicked, and the housing market has cooled slightly but we're not losing our homes..

You guys need a *serious* change of government.

Don't you Republicans DARE blame dems.  All this happened under President Bush's watch.

Get rid of your Republican government.  It's time for a change.

'Stereotype', I understand that banks have been dealing out mental 'variable interest rate' mortgages since forever.  I believe they became popular in the 70's.  Tell my why then that people are suddenly starting to lose their homes *now*, in mass numbers?  Because under Bush's administration, banks were allowed to run wild.

If I undertand correctly, the whole reason for these mass forclosures is because of interest rate hikes, right?  And the interest rate hikes are happening because banks are selling mortgages to other banks, who then in turn sell them to Wall Street, who then sell them to international buyers who want a piece of the American economy.  Everytime a mortgage gets sold, the seller makes a huge chunk of money, but the homeowner's interest rate goes up by a little bit, because the interest rate is variable, not fixed.

I blame Bush because it's under his watch that banks and big companies went crazy selling and reselling mortgages, and jacked up homeowner's mortgage payments to double or even triple the original payment.

I assumed that the government had set limits in regards to how often a mortgage may be resold, to protect homeowners from greedy banks.  But America has become a capitalist nation, where the profits of the big businesses are more important than the protection of the little people.

*That* is why I blame Bush.  For not putting limits up to protect his people when he saw the potential crisis.

As for the education system thing, doesn't New York do state budget inquiries to see where the money is spent?  Don't just blame dems straight up if the facts aren't even known hun.

  6. They spend more time training them to be liberals then educating them...
