Will Limewire, slow my computer down?

Like the one dude said yes and no. Like if you have a really good computer then most likely no. I have a so so computer not super fast btu no no where near slow. When I have it open and im browsin the web it slows it down and freezes it up or if im playin a song and on the net the song will repeat nd repeat lol. But I just like have it do I can download music to my ipod and I just dont open it when Im on the web.

I've had it for 2 years, and it hasn't slowed down my computer.

I haven't gotten any viruses from it either, just because I carefully watch what I'm downloading.

The program itself will not ... the insane amount of spyware and viruses that you'll likely end up with certainly will though.

It will probably depend on how many songs your are downloading at once, but, probably.

That's my guess.

Absolutely. Everytime i downloaded that thing; it seemed fine at first. but then it just began to slow down. when i scanned my computer to do a routine cleaning; it had more than 269 parasites in it! & one TROJAN virus. all of the parasites were the files i had downloaded. my suggestion is; dont do it.

the program it self will slow down ur INTERNET...the stuff u download will slow ur COMPUTER

yeah...but if you keep your up and downloads low....there will be no problem.

And do install good antivirussoftware like AVG 7.5....

Limewire contains lots of spy, adware and virusses today.....

Limewire is a program that will slow down your internet connection when started or downloading. If limewire is closed out of the system trey than your connection will be fine. If you download alot of music than you can still speed up your computer by defragmeting it. To defragmet go to start than all programs than accessories than system tools than defragmenter. It usually takes about a hour. than your computer will be good as new.

If you download lots of songs, it really slows the whole system down, but apart from that it's fine (i.e if you leave it running, no downloading songs, it doesn't do anything.)
