  1. London is a small town compared to Beijing.  They can try to do something small and cute.  It will be a snoozer.

  2. Safety comes first. London has to do something with the various stabbings. Good venues. Hospitality. Kindness of the British. The key to success.

Opening and Closing ceremonies is not important. What Beijing did is just eye candy...nothing else.

  3. i agree with the british dude, probably not, but they wont cheat hopefully, not only the gymnasts but the lip syncing girl and the fake fireworks. plus london is trying for an environmentally friendly games that wont cost that much. the chinese spent billions of dollars for the olympics cuz they wanted themselves to look good to the rest of the world, there the only one in the world that needs to do that since they ****** up so bad in the past. i think the london games will be better, at least there wont be a 13 hr time difference and the people speak normal languages and look good but CHICAGO 2016 is gonna be the GREATEST OF ALL TIME

  4. no no no way

  5. We don't have to match the ostentatious opening and closing ceremonies- it's about sport not fancy firework displays- but when it comes to infrastructure and facilities to cater for athletes and spectators I expect London to outmatch Beijing. There won't be half empty arenas as there were for some events in Beijing. For the Chinese dealing with such an influx of people was a new experience but London is used to dealing with millions of tourists every year.

  6. Probably not (but we won't cheat)

  7. no way man! china is a superpower and the beijing games were perfect! and those fireworks displays were absolutely mesmerizing! the sleeping dragon awoke during the beijing games and now i know why napoleon said that famous saying after returning from a visit to china in the 1800's where he pointed to china on a world map and said "that is a sleeping dragon, let her sleep, for when she awakes, she will shake the world"

  8. Highly unlikely.

  9. I don't think any other city can put on a good show like Beijing. And... London skit at the Closing Ceremony was just horrible and old fashioned. British appeared, with a dance skit including a London bus and members of three dance companies. Clearly, they were playing far from home, with limited resources. Even so, it looked chaotic and under-rehearsed.

  10. No. I believe the Beijing Olympics were the best Olympics I have ever seen my twenty six years of living. No country can ever match what happened in Beijing. They were out of this world.
