Now that Lorenzo Fertitta is the new CEO of the UFC, will Dana slowly be kicked to the curb? and if so do you think that it will help the sport more if Dana's gone?

  1. Dana White has always Co-owned the UFC.  He is the front man, the man in front of the camera that is.  That is his main position in the business and I think he is great at it.  Kicking him to the curb if that did happen wouldn't change anything. People dont watch MMA to see Dana White.

Dana White though I think is a great promoter of the UFC and probably always will be.

  2. What kind of question is this?  No I don't think that they will "kick Dana to the curb" because he co-owns UFC.  He and Fertitta both own it.  Dana isn't losing his position.  Fertitta is just stepping down from his other business ventures to concentrate on the UFC and give it his full attention and to use his connections to expand the company.  What a poor question.

  3. Let me put it this way, it is the only sport where the main man in the organization drop's the F-bomb on TV more then anyone I have ever seen, even in steven segal's early movie.

Just the type of person you want reperesenting you huh?

  4. From what I understand Dana White owns 10% of the UFC.  While that by no means is a large part of the company you may see his role change.  My guess is that you will see Lorenzo Fertitta use his experience and Las Vegas connections to establish the UFC more securely and capture some of the big money type crowd that boxing has drawn for years.  It may not be a bad move entirely as they are going to get a run for their money from Showtime Elite XC and their cable and local television network deal.  Not only that but you also have the upcoming presidential election and if McCain wins you are going to see a battle over having all this ended since he is totally against this and has said he will end all MMA type fighting. The more accepted and more established they can become with main stream society like boxing along with the added big money crowd the more secure their position will become and the more revenue they can also generate for their cards which largely now comes from pay-per-view type offerings.

  5. Based on what I've read about LF, he's the second biggest ringer in the casino business, raking in $100+mil/yr. He has not been focusing all his efforts into the UFC since 2000, so he's just been a background guy. That doesn't say that he wasn't part of the influence with DW and LF's brother. Now that he's going to be solely concentrating on the UFC I'd bet that we see a much bigger rise with the sport and DW making more money. I just don't see the frontman falling back, as a face always needs to be seen. Maybe if DW becomes more of a D*** he'll leave the limelight, but really... Let that pompus *** be on TV we're not there to see him anyway.
