All I do now is go to work, go to school, sleep, eat, surf the Internet and watch TV...Yes. I have a very boring life. All of my friends stopped talking to me because of they're busy with their careers/families and other various reasons. So, I was thinking about enrolling into a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu school. Do you think it'll add some excitement into my life?

  1. dude do it

    then join a fight club

  2. yea it would. i kinda had that life until wrestling in highschool. i'm planning on doing mma after highschool

  3. Gracie is wonderful!  They were my rival team back when I was competing, and they're a great, wonderful school with tons of talent!!  Just be sure that you see your martial journey as that, and not an amusement.

Your training, coupled with your apparent amount of free time, could take you very far if you practice every day.

I think a martial art would help you.

And remember, learning happens at the dojo, but practicing has to happen at home!  Don't only train in classes, you will not reach your full potential that way.

Train hard, because every second you have you'll never have again.

  4. Jiu Jitsu = life

    E

  5. Yes, martial arts have become one of the most important things in my life.

I actually experienced the same exact problem you are right now.  Martial arts changed all that for me.

Here is an excerpt from my website where I tell my personal story which sounds familiar to yours:

You have questions, and I understand that. My motivation for this site stems from my own personal story.

My name is Mark and I am the owner, creator, webmaster, et.al, of this website. After leaving the military I found myself in a meaningless rut of working 9-5 and missing "passion" in my life. Years earlier, I had taken Judo for two years and remembered how beneficial it was to not only get a work out, but to do it by learning martial arts and enjoying all the added benefits that come along with it.

So I decided I wanted to "get back into it". This was about six years ago and unfortunately for me, there wasn't much out there to help me with my search. So I stumbled about for a few weeks trying to find a school that offered what I wanted, was close enough for me to feasibly get to, and was the right price.

I finally found a Kempo Karate school that offered the environment, price, and proximity that I was looking for. This was a great stepping stone for me and my passion was reignited. Since then I have moved on and now train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.

Now my goal (outside of furthering my own martial arts life) is to help others do the same. If you are wondering any of the following questions:

    Why Martial Arts?

Which martial arts style should I learn?

Where do I find a Martial Arts School?

What are the Benefits of Martial Arts?

Which Martial Arts School is best?

Then this site was built just for you.

I have furthered myself as a person, met many great people (including my wife), and have found what identifies me personally. And I owe it all to studying the arts. Learning Martial Arts can be exactly what you are looking for. So good luck and visit us often for all your Martial Arts training needs.

If you are considering a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu school you are likely in Southern California no?  If so, I also have a directory of every martial arts school in Socal on my website to.  Check it out.

Hope this helps!  Let me know!

  6. No..

  7. sure, if you want to do it do it, but you are the only one who can bring excitement to your life. If you want to hang with friends more, than do it, if you want to join a group of some sort, than do it. Life is what you make it, and you are in control of your own destiny, whether it be good or bad. Good luck, and have fun.

  8. yes, but you will only get out of it what you put into it

  9. YES. I had the same problems(some anyways) and it helped tremendously. The weird thing is when you take MMA you train with people you don't even like. but you trust them. you know they will not break your arm or put you to sleep. You would never be caught dead hanging out with these people their family to you. Good luck

  10. you might meet more people and have more to do. jui jitsu isnt really MMA its jui jitsu.

  11. It'll make you feel better because of the physical exertion it would involve.
