Will McCain's gamble work?

It's already obvious wacky base world is happy with the selection of Palin. I thought McCain had already solidified enough of his base to make a credible run, and would pick a VP with experience to shore up a weakness, or a VP with useful regional appeal. Instead he picks Palin, who immediately starts talking about Hillary and the 18,000,000 cracks in the glass ceiling. Do you think a pro-life, pro-gun, creationist can actually bring in enough Hillary voters to be worth the risk?

Only a pretty ignorant hillary supporter would be swayed to McCain because of Palin.  She is about as opposite to Hillary as you can get and to just vote for any woman is pretty dumb....

Actually, although she is cute and friendly and speaks pretty well, the more I learn about her the scarier she is.  She is really a fundamentalist right wing person.
