I currently have the old 03 microsoft word for my pc and I want to upgrade to the 2007 version. I also want to instal 2007 version on my mac. ( I know i would have to buy both separately) But, would I be able to easily open docs made on PC on my Mac and vice versa??

  1. Yes they will both work because they save it . doc or .docx format

  2. it's the same program, yes.

  3. In theory you should be able to.  I've had friends send me files from word on their macs that I could open on my PC, and vice versa.  I think the bigger issue you'd run into is the new .docx format for the 2007 (MS) and 2008 (Mac) versions of Word.  This is easily gotten around by just setting your default save to .doc.  Otherwise only people with 2007/8 versions of Word (or who have installed the compatibility patch) will be able to open the file.

  4. Do you mean you want to install Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac? And yes, both Macs and PCs can open and save in the .doc format,

  5. Simple answer = Yes.

Mac can handle quite a lot of media documents from PC (.doc/.txt .pdf)The basic rule that works most of the time is, if it ends in .exe, it won't work
