Will Microsoft catch me if i lie to them about my broken xbox 360?

Question

so, here is the situation, my xbox 360 is giving me an e74 error. that is not the 3 red lights. (the 3 red lights are fixed for free) so, what im thinking about doing is calling them up and telling them my xbox has the three red lights and then they will send my a box to send my xbox away in. then if i dont get caught they will send my a new xbox 360. so do you think it will work? have you done this? what are the consequences?

p.s. its either this, or cook my 360 until it gets the 3 red lights. thankyou!

well try removing your hard drive and playing may fix. other than that you would have to wrap it in a towel for about 2 hours or so. and send it in saying it has rrod. and they MIGHT send you a new one.

Hey it doesn't matter if its not 3 red lights. As long as there is a red light and your xbox 360 doesn't work. You could always send it to Microsoft. trust me, my friend's xbox had a one red light too, he sent it to Microsoft and they gave him a new one from a different xbox box.

just send it to them, it only takes 2 to 3 weeks for them to fix it.

but anyways red lights come and go for some ppl an microsoft knows

to be 4real i think  when microsoft get the xbox all they do is scan it in there system cheak to see if u  open it up any damages that could been done u(droping )

then send off to repair and send u some ones old xbox
