  1. how many does he have il check on

  2. If I were a betting man I'd bet against it.

300 winners are not a dying breed. They will continue to emerge every generation unless the way the game plays radically changes. It's not a easy goal, but that's why it's a significant one. I wouldn't hazard a guess about which young pitchers will reach 300, but there is at least one lurking out there now in his 20's that will.

  3. Not likely, but he's not done yet. Probably needs three more seasons, and at his age he is NOT going to get a three-year deal, so he'll have to re-establish his cred each forthcoming season.

No. If Moose makes it, he will NOT be the last 300 game winner. Mediots have been crying that plaint since Ryan (in 1990) at least. 300 game winners have never been a common breed, but one or two pop up every generation, and there is not yet enough reasons to think that pattern will not re-occur or re-emerge in time. (Predicting anyone not yet at 200 Ws is hazardous at best, but a few younger aces are in reasonable position to challenge 300 -- Sabathia, Santana, Oswalt. Maybe others. Not all of them will make it; likely none will. But these men, at least, have a small chance.)

  4. I don't think he's quite gonna get there.

And no, he will not be the last one.  I'm so sick of that c**p that they keep spouting on ESPN about "We may never see another 300 game winner in our lifetime".  Bullcrap.  They said it when Glavine got to 300.  And now Randy Johnson is 6 wins away.  And after Johnson gets there, there are guys like Pettitte and Pedro who will be about 80 wins away.  And they are only 36.  5 more good years and they are there.

And then there are the young guys like Santana, Sabathia, Oswalt and Halladay who will all approach that number with a little consistency.

So after Johnson and possibly Mussina, there may be a lull of a few years before there is another.  But that has happened many times before in history.

Don't believe all that ESPN "We'll never see it again" c**p.

  5. Not if you don't count the ones he got when he was using performance enhancing drugs. He's a cheater. Clay Bucholz and Jon Lester will get 300.

  6. For the 34th time, no.

  7. It is almost impossible
