That had to have been one of the greatest finals in Wimbledon history! I'm so glad Nadal won it, he really really deserved to win. After all these years with Federer beating him in the final. Will he become the World No.1 now? He still has to crack the U.S. and Australian Opens?

  1. Well sure, I think Rafa could be number one. He still has the Swiss maestro in his way. He also needs to learn to play more efficient tennis so he's not so burned out on hardcourts. If he's number one he needs to master those. I really mean that.

  2. Defiantly nadal has improved so much and i can see him improving and improving in the next couple of years about time i am so sick of federer he sucks

  3. I really hope so :-)

He has worked soo hard and deserves it so much :-D

    Vamos Rafa xx

  4. Yup. But only if he wins a lot of tourneys between now and then because he has very little points to defend and roger has a lot of points to defend so one may stay the same pointswise even if hes winning and the other will gain points if he wins. And Rafa is only 545 points behind federer... So its very likely that he will take over the number 1 spot by next year.

  5. no way... since Federer just got beat, he's probably gonna get a coach and work SUPER hard to beat Nadal the next time they play... And I'm pretty sure that Federer is still ahead in the ranking by about 200 or so points... at least it was last time I checked... but Nadal is gonna be #1 as soon as Federer retires probably...

  6. i think he could no

  7. Federer would prolly quit because he is just so used to being the best, he would have to stress himself even more to achieve his goals.  People who think hes old at 26-27 you guys are dumb, he will bounce back at nadal, I hope nadal loses to the better opponent.  Federer underestimated nadal because nadal is getting better, for federer to win, he must go all out, and not underestimate him.  Fed, do something you never had to do fully- GO ALL OUT.

  8. It will all depends on how well his body holds up. His body usually takes a beating whenever he plays on a hard court and already just one day after winning Wimbledon, he has already pull out of a tournament. This has become a norm for Rafa, after Wimbledon.

He will also have a lot of points to defend next year, and if Roger is no longer number one at the end of the year, you will have to imagine that all the pressure that Roger has been dealing with these last five years will be lifted from him next year, as Nadal will be facing all the attention as the new number one. Therefore if this happens Roger can be a very dangerous player when little is expected from him.

Roger is by no means going away anytime soon from the top!!! If Nadal becomes number one, then this gives Roger a much needed break to just concentrate on his game, while Nadal will have to deal with the press and the pressure that everyone places on you as the new world number one. It's a very difficult job and Roger has made it seem very easy these past five years. Should be interesting to see how well Rafa handles it.

  9. Unfortunatly I think that he will

  10. I truly believe he has the chance to do that. From a strong player, he became a great player. Then he became a powerful young champion, and turned mighty with a victory against the active great living legend. All this under 22 years.

He has time, he has strength, he has the ability, and after seeing Wimbledon 2008....looks like he has the patience too.

    Yup he'll do it!
