Will the Mayor fail to evacuate the needy again? Will he leave thousands of buses sitting in lots to be flooded? Will the Governor and the State Homeland Security Department stop the Red Cross and FEMA supplies from going in again?

  1. Mayor?  It doesn't take anything to be a mayor.  The emergency management is handled by FEMA - read up.  A certain senator from Arizona was eating birthday cake with the President while the rest of the country watched the city drown.

  2. Thank God they have a real governor in there this time....Bobby Jindal, rather than the incompetent Kathleen Blanco.

  3. Your question is totally bogus because the mayor of New Orleans did not fail.

Ray Nagin arguably didn't try at all, so how could he fail?  He just whined (now infamously), "Somebody's got to do something!"  Nagin figured the role of a mayor was to blame the Feds for everything, and that worked out pretty well.  He got re-elected.

So stop slamming Mr. Nagin.  The guy is certifiably a genius.  You can't say he's incompetent because he didn't try.  You can't say he's stupid because he did what every politician wants:  he got re-elected with little to no effort.

The new governor won't make the same mistake as his predecessor.  If calamity strikes, he'll unilaterally take some action, even if it's just a lot of smoke and mirrors, to show he is "active and involved".

I mean, what can you expect?  This isn't Texas, you know.

  4. Yes, he will fail again. The guy is a complete idiot.

  5. sure he will, and he will blame everyone but himself

  6. the question is whether bush will be on the stump for mccain while people are possibly drowning
