Boy oh boy this question hurts me simply because I am a die hard Irish fan. However, I am also a football analyst so it hurts me to have to answer this question by way of fact.

The facts are that the offensive line will still be bad, better than last year, but bad. They have size on the O-line but lack athletes on the line. Further, the entire team, despite the upgraded recruiting efforts, lack speed across the board. They don't have any 4.3 forty yard dash guys, they have 1 player who runs a 4.4 forty yard dash and some who run in the 4.5 range which is not good. They have no good corner backs even though they believe that they have good corner backs, they do not. They have no animals at line backer and their D-line is about a "6" on a scale of "10". Their tail back is fair at best and they have no "go to" receivers who can dominate. They do have one of the best QB's in the country and they are strong in the QB arena, however, without a line or receivers, the QB is going to get beat up a bit once again just like last year. However, his arm is no longer injured so they will have a much improved offense. They are kind of lucky that they are not playing in the Pac-10 because then they would be about 500. Since they are independent, they will end up being 7-4.

I think they'll be a little bit better, but you've gotta remember that Weiss is an awful college coach.  He's terrible at fundamentals and honestly last year is his fault.  So I think they'll get a little better because of better talent, but most of it is still raw.  They do have an easier schedule, so they might go to a bowl game, and if they do I think they'd have a good shot of winning it.  (7-6)

i think they should win around 7 or 8 games this is going to be much more successful then last year much more experiance
