from Hawaii? He's as much white as he is black (50/50), and considering that he was raised by his white grandparents, I think the scales tip more towards whiteness.

That was a joke, and I think the whole race issue is stupid; it just reinforces our segregationist past. Whatever happened to, "man will be judged not by the color of his skin, but by the content of character." It's really hard to kill racism when the foundations of it are still very much alive

I think you make an excellent point.  Racism will always exist because we the people refuse to let it go.  We always focus on color first and skills/character/knowledge second.  People can never seem to look beyond the color and see the man.

but alot of african americans are mixed with different things so it's easy to fit in. that's why he considers himself black.

I don't care if he is black, white, pink, green, purple, and etc.  I can not vote for a man who voted against the born alive act.  This act was to protect babies who were born alive from a botched abortion.  Babies, which were alive even after abortion were found in the dumpster by a nurse in the hospital.  This is the killing of babies and I can't vote for a guy like that.

Ah, your gnawing at very foundation of the democratic party who wants race issues to continue.

Affirmative action gives jobs to black qualified or not based on skin color. ANY equal opportunity employers are racists. When race is the determining factor in the hiring process...how can racism be eliminated?

He's biracial, and unfortunately, people aren't judged by their character. I gave up trying to convince people that he is both black and white. The media ran with it, so its over.
