I am a strong Obama supporter, but I am curious. Based on the article above it seems that McCain was wise in choosing a female VP, as a way to gain support from voters who wanted Hillary. Remember, Hillary won over a lot of conservative states that didn't want Obama. Had Clinton been up for President, she would have gained all the normal Democratic states PLUS the states that normally sway Republican. But can Obama do the same? It seems now with Palin on the roster, more Ameircans are going to go her direction, knowing McCain is old and will probably croak before his term is over.

Sad, since the economy is so messed up and there is a loss of thousands of jobs, people still vote because of "Moral Values" and "Religion"- yet these reasons aren't going to pay the bills or feed your children.

  1. Yeah, pretty much.

  2. Actually the latest poles I have seen show that Obama didn't lose his "bump" from the democratic convention.

All Palin did was to shore up a base that wouldn't have voted for Obama anyway.

Her addition to the ticket won't sway many undecided voters.

She is already showing her flaws in glaring detail. and by the end of the debates, the deal is sealed.

Not to mention the historical trend that no sitting party in the White House has kept in the light of a falling stock market (which we have) and a rising unemployment rate (which we also have) The only exception is Reagan in 1984.

All McCain is promising is more of the same, no substantial changes from current policy/tactics.

  3. Yes, that is why the left keep bashing her. She is a serious threat!

She will be the next VP.

    McCain/Palin 08

  4. Obama is HISTORY!

  5. YES he is going to lose, Palin sealed the deal at the convention.

  6. No Obama won't lose. Our elections are pre determined anyway. Don't think your vote matters and don't think Obama is any better. Different head of the same snake.

  7. Trust me... she gets NONE of Hillary's voters...

Besides, did McCain lose when Obama was more popular (and still is)?

Also - you need to understand that Palin is only meant as a distraction from the fact that Cheney is starting another war (this time with Russia) and that Palin has already told too many lies.

Most of the attention paid to Palin is negative... not positive... but the media gets ratings either way.

  8. First of all YES. Sarah has a higher approval rating than Obama, McCain, and Biden. Second McCain's economic idea is great even though neither he nor Obama has really said much about their policies. People need to understand that McCain isn't another Bush. He has never got along with our current president and he plans on taking our country on a more prosperous path and pulling troops out of Iraq. When he said we would stay it meant that there would always be a small American force in Iraq. Just like we have in Germany, Japan, South Korea, and many other countries. Obama said he will raise taxes. There is a reason McCain is more popular with the working class, because they will benifit from him the most.

  9. All this DOES NOT MATTER.

According to our electoral system, the candidates need 270 to win and Obama has 250 and McCain has 237.

All Obama needs to win is Ohio!

McCain has a tough hill to climb.

So the polls, the Palin factor, etc, DOES NOT MATTER!

    Obama/Biden 08!

  10. neither will obamas tax plan when taxes are so high we have 5$ bread and no retirements left due to taxes.

  11. if Bin Laden stood up there and gave the hockey pittbull lipstick speech, they would Bin Laden is even ready to take the job of US president if needed
