What Bushwack says is entirely possible. Bush has given himself  emergency powers to suspend the elections and Congress. All he has to do is to declare a "national catastrophe". The president and the director of homeland security would then run things until they decided the emergency was over. A similar scheme didn't work too well for Bush's old friend Musharif in Pakistan, so perhaps he won't try it.
