Will Operations Scheduled Departure be successful?

ICE is offering a chance to 500,000 illegal immigrants in 5 cities to turn themselves in. They'll get 90 days to put their affairs in order and then will be sent back to their home countries - no handcuffs, no jail time, just a trip home.

Do you think they'll take it?

  1. Some might, especially if in doing so they are not banned from coming back into the country legally.

  2. This will indeed be a success. As the economy has shrunk, many illegal aliens have found themselves in limbo. They have no work, and their savings are dwindling. They want to leave the country without running the risk of incarceration. Consequently, by self-deporting (as countless thousands have already done, by some statistics) the US taxpayers save millions of dollars that would need to be spent on law enforcement dragnets, imprisonment and deportation proceedings. The illegal aliens get home in a dignified and safe manner. What's to object about this?

  3. As much as I wish it would be successful,I doubt it.

  4. No chance, only our esteemed government could come up with a plan this illogical.

  5. Sure why not. The ICE haters always complain that fugitive operations are unnecessarily harsh for non-criminals. This gives them a chance to leave on their terms.
