Hi Sylvia, for some reason I'm not able to email you thru Yahoo, so I'll ask you here. As I understand you:

-P8 connects to my Cox high speed internet modem

-MJ connects to a USB port...and these two item should serve my needs. BUT

-If I did use Vonage I would need an additional ISP, like who?...but I'm not sure I need this.

-If I use MJ wouldn't that cover all my personal phone needs? Would there be any reason to use Vonage or Skype or the SIP's that you mentioned.

-And now I can cancel my AT&T and just use Cox high speed internet, P8 and MJ, right?

  1. hmmmmmm....I've turned my email on......I don't know why email doesn't work...!

yes....to all your questions on your post!

that's the way I have mine set up!

    no....you don't need Vonage....packet8 does the job!

Vonage and Packet8 are true VoIP providers, also called Broadband!

the MagicJack is in a class all be itself ( a gizmo that kinda runs piggy-back on Ymax)

so, all you need is just one ISP (Internet service provider) like cox, earthlink or whoever is in your area!

cox is fine.....!  MJ is nice as a backup or 2nd line for you!

I have the 29.99 a month package with P8 because it gives me 40 foreign countries for free!

yes, you can cancel AT&T now! and get started....I will help you and look for your posts..!
