Not if the d**n media doesn't follow him around, pointing out who he is and being sure to tell the whole world on the evening news just WHERE he and his unit are stationed.  Oh, but wait....we're talking about gossip hungry news outlets, aren't we?  You know, the ones who, when the Challenger exploded, cut immediately to the faces of  the parents of Christa McAuliffe, as her mother's face dissolved into tears and she hid her face on her husband's chest.

Yeah, real tactful press.  If you will recall, recently Prince Charles' son had to be removed from his military assignment because of press leaks.

Which is why McCain gives out NO information about his son.
