Pat's contract is up at the end of this season, and the Yankees want hitters. If Pat does go to the Yankees (which I don't want to happen), who will we get in return?

  1. If the Yankees get him, they'll sign him as a free agent after this year.

  2. The Yankees are not going to give up players for a rental at this point, the Phils are going to get to enjoy a few more months with Pat before he leaves to rejoin Ed Wade in Houston for an inflated salary!

  3. Why would they trade for him when they can get him as a FA at the end of the season.

  4. No way

  5. He will be a Phillies player next year

  6. no1 burrell sucks and the yanks dnt want a crappy player like im

  7. The Yankees need pitching.  What they don't need is a sometime power hit with a .260 lifetime batting average.  It might even be a different story if Pat "The Bat" was a left handed hitter, via the short porch down the right field line.  Of course I'm not sure what the new ball park with be.

The Phillies would be smart to try and unload him since he's having a fairly decent season.  The problem with the Phillies management is that they have a history of not getting involved in the free agent market on a regular basis.

To answer the rest of your question, the Yankees won't make any deal with the Phillies.  The only player they would be interested in is Cole Hamels and we all know  that's never going to happen.

  8. Yankees will go after CC instead.

  9. No

  10. No.  If the Yankees are gonna get The Bat, they'll sign him in the offseason, not trade.

  11. Burrell isnt going anywhere for the rest of the year....plus the yankees dont need him...they need PITCHING!!!! he is having a great year and im sure the phillies will lock him up during the offseason.....he will probably get a lot more then he deserves but since he is having a nice contract year he will get a ton......but hes been with philly all his career and i dont see him going anywhere.........im guessing that the yankees will get Texiera this offseason since he will be a free agent and so will Giambi
