One of the ugliest sports divorces occured during the 1995-96 season, when the Montreal Canadiens and Patrick Roy parted ways. Whether one believes Roy's account of the affair (he was left out to dry by then-coach Mario Tremblay) or management's (Roy was just about finished and overpaid), the fact of the matter is that the iconic goalie still has beef to settle. The question is this: will Patrick Roy's said beef with the Montreal Canadiens be settled in time (time heals all wounds) for a smooth 100th anniversary season celebration?

  1. i don't beleive so, patrick roy will be in the hall of fame in an avalanche jersey. patrick can hold a grudge a long time!

  2. I don't think so. Roy strikes me as a very stubborn person who thinks he's always right (what happened in '02 at Salt Lake again, St. Patrick?) so he won't back down, and it'll look very bad on the Habs as an organization if they extend their olive branch.

  3. Would be nice but its just not going to happen. As great as he is his ego is bigger. Some of that is justified too. The team gave up on him and he proved he still had it in him.

  4. One would Hope that it could get settled for the sake of not just the Candiens history but hockey as well. But I really do not see that happening with Patrick's very huge ego

  5. No way, they hung him out to dry and proclaimed him "done"

2 cups and a conn smythe later , I'd hold a grudge after bringing an organization 2 cups and 2 conns

  6. I certainly hope so. Ronald Corey will certainly be there, but I doubt Tremblay will.

  7. He's a fighter he will recant on his death bed
