Will it stiffle his flair and aggression, the top job has been to much to bear for better players than Kevin, Freddy and Beefy come to mind!

  1. I don't think this will change much about Pieterson..He has a certain 'cocky' flair that he wont loose over night.I am not saying being 'cocky' is a bad thing it is  just going to be a big change for him emotionally and also mentally..He is going to have to grow up a h**l of a lot and pretty quickly too..

I hope he can raise the Pom's back up to where they used to be,this might just be the change the England team needed,he is going to bring a lot into the team and hopefully it doesn't go to his head too much...

I just wish him well,he is going to need a lot of encouragement during his settle in period..

  2. yes pitterson can handle the pressure of captaincy because ha has guts to hold the pressure as we have seen in recent series and he is also a world good batsman

  3. he can't handle pressure because he doesn't appear to be pressurised in any situation!

    just an opinion!

i can see a naughty smile on his face and nothing else and i don't think its gonna change!

The people who have been most successful skippers in history like Clive Lloyd, Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh, Ganguly etc. all appear from their face that they are being pressurised and look d**n serious, as face is an index of mind!

    god bless!

  4. Recent England players have not coped well with the public exposure that cricket brings, & given that Pietersen was not born in England, that may be the telling factor. Despite Warne's glum look at Pietersen's ability to handle it, I think he will do a good job.

  5. as long as his form keeps the same then he will be fine

  6. i think kevin will do just fine~

  7. I believe that he will be able to cope with the pressure..I mean he rew up in South Africa, is there a more stressfull place?

I think the real question is will he be a good captain? While watching him take the one day international against New Zealand he looked completely lost and made some nasty field placing decisions. He grew up just down the road from me and to my knowledge he has absolutely no experience at any level when it comes to captaincy.

From what we saw on the last test against South Africa where he tried to glory boy his way with a six to reach his hundred is just a taste of his personality.

I think its either gonna be hit or miss...similar to his batting

  8. Will have to wait and watch.  Though Andrew Flintoff would have been better choice he lost the chance because of his injury problems.
