  11. yeah there is one in trafford centre (outside Manchester) and its been busy everytime i've been. need to have other options as well though for the fussy eaters!

  12. Hi

Answering a slightly different question but...a friend of mine lived for a while in Manchester with his japanese wife, and found that Manchester has about the fewest Japanese people of any major city in the UK.

That said Mancunians are self-conciously forward-looking in their tastes and love to be considered sophisticated - I left that wonderful city in 1999 and it was easier then to buy posh foreign beers in Manchester than it is in London now.

I remember a front page headline from the local newspaper, the Manchester Evening News, proudly proclaiming "Mancunians drink more filter coffee than Londoners" - apparently a recent survey had shown that people in London were slightly more likely to buy instant coffee than the inhabitants of Manchester and this was a cause for great celebration...

  13. Yes, I'm from Manchester and it has a very wide variety of restaurants. You will have competition from already established and popular sushi restaurants like Sapporo Teppenyaki and New Samsi, so you better have something that makes you stand out...

  14. Yes! i love sushi and live in Manchester but you'll have to think carefully about where you open it. A new sushi bar has just opened in the Arndale centre, in the new market bit (where there's now a kind of posher food court). so that may have the monopoly on lunch time sushi in the city.
