Will Phelp's 8 ever be Challenged?

Question

What do you think will another phenom come around in about 30+ years and attempt to take Michael’s record. I know this is WAY! to early to know and ask considering that the guy only achieved this about about 30 minutes ago. But I someone will maybe not in 30 years like I said, but eventually. They praised spitz 7 as unbelievable, unprecedented, and I’m sure some said that it would never be rivaled; and well it's 2008 and that record is now history.

Yes, definitely. They said the same about Spitz and look at Phelps. But, it won't be for a long time.

Phelps is incredible, though! What an inspiration - everyone said he couldn't and he did.

I think it will be sooner than 30 years, probably by himself !!!

i say yes. I think in 2012, i feel phelps will train harder and maybe try and get into more events. But this feat is pretty tough, even the great michael phelps had a tough time in a few races. So i truly doubt that this record will be touched, unless its by himself. The record of 7 stood for 30+ years, its possible someone may tie the record of 8, but i doubt anyone will ever pass it.

of course its going to ba challenged! spitz was challenged by phelps, phelps will be challenged by comneone else, they will be challenged by someone else....... it will continue to go on.

unfortunately, phelps won't be beating his own record in the 2012 olympics.. he says he's going to compete, but definately not in 8 events!

if ppl today can challenge the world record back in the 80s..why not ppl 20 years later challenge today' record?
