  1. Minerals are NOT removed by water filters.

Use only distilled water in an electric steam iron.

You may purchase a home distiller, and do it yourself.

  2. It should be better for your iron because all the minerals and stuff have been removed. Maybe try a little bit to start.

  3. It will be perfect for your iron. It is also the best for coffee machines as well and anything else that heats water.

  4. Look up the manufacturer's recommendations for your model. Most commercial irons, and some home irons require distilled water to work properly. If that is the case, filtered water will not work. My iron uses tap water, but it can't be to hard. I have pretty hard water, so I have to mix it half and half with distilled. I tried pure distilled water, but it would leak, and cause the iron to spit. My manufacturer recommends using bottled spring water if tap water causes problems, but I have had success mixing my tap water with distilled water. I hope this helps.
