  1. Im afraid it is to tough for their lads,  Who would rather play the gentlemens game Rugby Union,  Or the ladies game Football.

Rugby league is a tough game for tough men and their are non tougher than from the North.     Its obvious that rugby league is a far superior sport in terms of toughness and exitment but the southerners just dont like to see their guddy guddy boys being bashed about.

Would you like another drink mortimer,  Oh yes Theadore ill have another Glass of this dazzelingly fruity red.

  2. It is unlikely that Rugby League will be big down south as rugby union is the main brand of rugby down in the south of England. However, there has been some growth of rugby league teams down south such as Harlequins Rugby League, London Skolars, Hemel Hemstead Stags, St. Albans Centurions, as well as the lower conference leagues.

This growth coupled with time can become more permanent and should give rugby league an avenue to southern England which it really hasn't had before, but the sport will probably be identified with northern England for a long time to come.

The seeds have been sown however, and as long as the RFL manages the situation well with a long term stategy/goal rugby league will establish itself down south.

  3. i dont know

  4. Over 300 schools now play League in London compared to just 30 a few years ago, it is also the fastest growing sport in Universitys and the Armed forces so YES Rugby League is getting bigger and bigger down south.

  5. Doubt it.

  6. Well speaking as a Gateshead Thunder fan, born and living in suffolk i'd have to say yes. But then i'm one of few down here who prefer league to yawnion!
