Will ROCK BAND 2 be better than ROCK BAND 1?

Rock Band 2's software will undoubtedly be better than the original. However, do to compatibility issues, the hardware may be the exact same (which is not really a bad thing), the guitars features as well as the drums will not be changed most likely. On the software side, RB 2 allows you to download songs from the RB series, meaning you can still play you're older (or download) tracks.

RB II also is rumoured to contain a custom jam session, allowing you to make alterations to songs, (Guitar Hero IV is offering the same type of mechanics). However, RB is still in development and much of it still remains a mystery.

In my opinion, it will be better than the first because you'll be able to take all of your songs from Rock Band and transfer them over to Rock Band 2!
