I think that he wont reach the No.1 for sure, he is about 4500 behind federer and 11 in grand slams. He did reach 3 finals , but lost to federer. His ranking now is World No.6, I just dont see him going to 2 or 3.

Whats your opinion ?

  1. i'm not sure about being number one again, there's a line there, hehe, rafa and novak certainlly have more chances, but i do think he's gonna win at least one more slam, i think he's has a chance in wimbledon and the open.-

maybe brooklyng is an inspiration, who knows...

i really hopes he wins wimbledon,

  2. I think he will stay where he is, at about 6th or 5th in the world. Maybe 4th the highest, but with Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal, and others, it's very difficult comepition for Andy.

  3. i agree. he's still an awesome player but i dont think he'll reach no.1. he has his good and bad days. i def don't think roddick will have a win against federer

  4. no he won't...he is good, but he lacks the self-dicipline and motivation that both FedEx or Rafa have...

  5. yes....wait....maybe....nah...definitely not

  6. sadly no

  7. Anything is possible. If Federer continues with his decline it could open up a lot for Roddick at Wimbledon and the US Open. Winning either or both of those tournaments is enough to boost his ranking significantly.

Roddick has played Federer tough in the past. He just beat Federer recently and I think that win is going to give him a lot of confidence when they meet again.

  8. I agree his highest ranking will prolly be 4. His game is too predictable. All the players have learn from Fed that all you have to do is bunt his serve back in and play the point. Now some players still aren't able to do that but the majority of the top players are able to and execute that strategy in a match. Until Roddick adds some real variety to his game, which does include always serving and volleying on second serves, which sometimes he does, then he really won't climb up the rankings definitely not the top 3.

  9. I love Andy Roddick, he's a very consisent player. But as long as Federer is still around I don't think he'll be able to get back to number one and as far as grandslams, if he doesn't go through Federer in the semi's or quarters he has a chance of meeting him in the finals. But he might have a slim chance at Wimbeldon or particularly at the US Open, anywhere else nope. But it's been ahrd for him ever since Fed took over. Andy has the talent but as long as a man named Roger Federer is still playing it'll be hard, anything can happen in tennis but I highly doubt Andy will ever win as many slams and Fed or takeover the number 1 ranking from fed. He's played Roger better, but he's got to do more than that against Federer

  10. He's good, but he'll never be number 1 again.

  11. yeah the gap is quite big, i think roddick is a very able and explosive player so i think the highest rank he is going to get is 4. hopefully he gets the us open. [after federer beats sampras' record:D:D if he does] Jus look how hard he tried against federer last year in the us. the only time he properly grunts when hitting the ball. if he does get to 3 then i would be both amazed and delighted because he is certainly capable!

  12. A wide gap in the points makes it impossible for him to reach No. 1 since all the higher ranked players are piling up points. But statistically, the only way he can become No. 1 is if all the players ranked 1-5 stop playing for the rest of the year.

  13. Roddick's problem is that he has poor work ethic. He will never reach the # 1 spot again for sure. as for a grand slam only if the other players have bad days. he just needs to pick his game up and stop being such a diva.

  14. big big gap from fed... he still needs to win more grand slams, more atp masters series, and other tours and of course defend all of this... when he's already on top.. he should DEFEND to remain...

  15. I second that.

though he is a great player  getting that much points wouldn't be easy even if federer starts messing up

  16. No and No. He is rubbish now.

  17. No.  Even if Federer quit playing tennis today, Roddick would never be able to overtake Nadal and Djokovic.  Roddick may win another slam title before he retires, but no way is he ever going to be #1 again.  The competition is way too tough at the top, and Roddick just isn't as consistent as he would need to be to become #1 again.

  18. No, never will.

  19. no

  20. Given the quality of the current top three, I would say he's unlikely to grab a Major any time soon, but it is "possible". If he plays out of his skin for two weeks... and gets a lucky draw, he could get one. He needs luck though as an increasing number of players are getting a read on how to beat him.

However, I think he has pretty much no chance of reaching the top spot again. Even time is not on his side. Federer is barely any older than him, and Nadal and Djokovic are much younger, meaning that he can't realistically hope to outlast them. He would have to hope that all three of them (and probably a few others as well) go into early retirement. At a push, I'd expect him to retain the status quo at best. He seems to enter a lot of tournaments over the course of a year and there are still enough players left who just can't handle his serve. Therefore, he stands a good chance of remaining in the top ten for a while yet.

  21. Barring the deaths of Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Davydenko at the same time, I don't think it will ever happen.

  22. He is a good player but no1 ranking sorry but definitely no. Slams maybe his best chance is US open I think if his serve will help him through it.

About the ranking, I think he can improve, but his game is not complete enough to take the no1 spot. watch his next match you would see that his court positioning is fair sometimes bad his backhand is fair his volleys are totally off he misses the lines he gets so emotional and angry and let lost points hang in his brain for too long. He got an impressive  forehand and unbelievable serve. Though I think Sometimes his serve let him down and it is not enough.

I like his press conferences he is fair toward other players.
