Will Rodgers have a chance against Favre when they compete for the starting position?

Rodgers went 7 for 20 with an interception during a Packers full scrimmage on Sunday. This should be interesting the next couple weeks. I think Favre should start for the Packers regardless.

Rodgers is definetly a contender. The team is already working on "chemistry" with him. He sounds like he'd do pretty well anyway. I agree, Green Bay's management isn't so smart. :)

How can you rule out a trade involving Favre.  Rodgers contract is coming up and the Packers need to know if he is going to be their quarterback of the future.  Favre will probably be starting for the Vikings.

I don't even think the word "compete" should be used... what competition???? Everyone with common sense knows that there is no way in the world that rodgers will beat brett in a QB competition...

Although I thoroughly believe the Packers should not cave in to the demands of an ego-maniac, I also realize that (like it or not) Farve is still a pretty good QB.  I don't feel that TT should be fired over this, he was simply trying to stick with a decision that had been made based on the information he was given (i.e. Farve was retired).  There is nothing wrong with that!  And you can bet that every person who has wasted their time discussing this situation now will be yelling and screaming if Farve messes up (like last year's play-off game) and the Packers have a losing season.  With the situation Farve has, so selfishly, put the Packers in there is no way they can win.  I honestly feel that the integrity of the Packers organization has been greatly compromised, and will be moreso if Farve starts, because they gave in to his demands.  Of course, this is all my own opinion.

If its a truely open competition then rodgers has no shot at being the starting QB.  And even if he somehow wins and is the starting QB, you know how much pressure is going to be on rodgers with Farve sitting on the sidelines.  One bad pass and everyone is going to be like lets go with Farve.  I still think this is just Green Bay's management trying to look like they are going to keep him  in order to create trade value.  Either Farve is traded or farve is the starter in Green Bay, If Farve is on the bench, with rodgers the starter, its going to be a disaster.

Favre has become a diva that can't stand that he is no longer in the spotlight.  He retired, Packers moved on.  He just can't waltz back in and expect everyone to drop everything and pay homage to him.  Grow up Favre!!!

I agree with you.  Favre WILL be the starting QB for the Packers come opening day.  Rodgers can't hold Brett's jock strap!!

There wont be a competition. Green Bay has already stated that Rogers is there guy. The only reason Green Bay brought Favre back was because he had them over the barrel. Green Bay is still trying to get rid of him. They've offered him a huge severence package deal and just incase he doesnt take that they've been in contact with the Vikings about a possible deal. It doesnt look well that Favre will be wearing Packer green this year.
