Will Roger Federer fire José Higueras ? lol?

Rafa dominated Roger out on that court today lol 6-1 6-3 6-0. Do you think Federer`s confidence will be dented by such a terrible loss or will he bounce right back? Wimby is coming up and i must say Nadal is looking in his best form ever.!!!!

Vamos Rafa Congrats to him not even dropping a set all tournament.

Probably, when you consider that he sacked Tony Roche while he was winning 3 out of 4 slams, and was at least somewhat competitive against Nadal on clay.  But it's not Higueras's coaching that was the problem today, it was Rafa's level of play.  Federer may not have been playing at his very best level, but even if he was, I don't know if it would have made much of a difference.  It probably would have been a closer score, but Rafa was unbeatable today.

He was helping Federer with his clay court game, so I think that Higueras will just work with him during the clay court season. Federer doesn't seem to need help at Wimbledon.

I dont think so but he would ask him what is he doing wrong. I watched the game today and Rafa was taking control all the time.  Although Federer was playing his best or worst,he does not like clay courts because they are slower than grass. He knew that Rafa is good at the baseline so he tried to pass him by volleying but made a few errors.   Federer should have withdrawn from Roland Garros on this occasion,by saying that he has got a minor upset.  I just watched a replay of Federer playing Rafa on grass and Fed won because it is his surface.

yeah,rafa was literally in the zone today.....i don't think fed could have really employed anything that would deter the way nadal was playing. he finally started getting his act together in the second but it wasn't enough.

but i think the higueras thing was only a short-term endeavour for the clay season. i don't think either really had any full-term plans because jose still coaches robby ginepri.

Q. Are you going to continue working with José Higueras?

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah. I mean, we spoke about it briefly at the beginning of Paris, you know. He's going to come to Halle with me, and he's also going to be in Wimbledon. It's something we're going to speak about the next few weeks, you know.

But I've given the request that he should consider what weeks he wants to join me for the rest of the year, so we'll see how it goes.

No, Roger's not like that. As for Wimby, completely different tournament, completely different surface, completely different story. In tennis, every match, every day can be completely different from the last and anything can change at anytime no matter who you are, Fed or Rafa. Nothing is ever taken for granted. But we will see. As for Fed's confidence. I don't think it'll affect him all that much. His experience today was nothing new and he's bounced backed countless times before at staggering rates from extremely tough losses that would mentally cripple the careers of lesser men. Fed's talent is such that he has the ability to literally come out of the blue and win a big tournament at anytime. No one can ever count him out.
