Will Ronny Markes defeat Aaron Simpson at UFC on Fuel TV 1? – UFC Special
Brazilian mixed martial art (MMA) fighter Ronny Markes will face American MMA fighter Aaron Simpson will lock hands at UFC on Fuel TV 1. Their bout is scheduled to take place on February 15, 2012. Markes, the 23-year-old MMA fighter will be looking forward
for the bout to extend his winning streak.
At the moment, Markes is a strong contender for the middleweight championship. Markes has been an impressive fighter ever since he began his MMA career in 2007. He fought his very first MMA bout against Enrico Vaccaro at KO: Arena 6 event held in Spain in January
2007. He began his successful MMA career with a technical knockout (TKO ) win over Vaccaro. It was the beginning of a swift career for Markes as he was undefeated in seven straight bouts. During this streak, he defeated Junior Fofinho, Michael Knaap, Charles
Andrade, Roque Oliver, Wanderlan Vila Cruzeiro and Fernando Almeida.
In October 2010 he faced his very first defeat by the hands of Paulo Rodrigues at Iron Man Championship2 held in Brazil. For Markes, this was the first and only loss he has so far experienced in his career. On February 15, 2012, when Markes faces Simpson in
Omaha at UFC on Fuel TV 1, this would be a test for Markes and his fighting abilities.
After his sole career loss by the hands of Paulo Rodrigues in October 2010, Markes restarted his winning streak and is currently enjoying victories in five straight bouts. Markes would be consciously fighting at UFC on Fuel TV 1 for this will be his second
fight with the UFC. He made his much anticipated UFC debut at UFC Live event against Karlos Vemola in August 2011 and won the bout.
Markes would need to give his best performance against Simpson for many reasons. First, he needs to prove his fighting skills in the UFC octagon, for which he must win his bout against Simpson, which will be his second UFC bout. Second, Markes is on a five
bout winning streak which would give him the needed confidence to succeed against Simpson.
Third, Markes would use his takedown skills in the bout to gain an edge over Simpson. Markes has a seventy-five percent takedown success rate which will be supporting Markes in his bout in February 2012. He also weighs in at 205 lbs (pounds) and measures at
6ft 1in, where his weight and height factor could prove decisive during his bout against Simpson, whose height and weight is lesser than Markes.
Markes could prove to be a successful fighter because he will not only eye defeating Simpson, but also to capture attention in the UFC circuit as a possible middleweight title contender in the future. One must wonder that for Markes, it is not time to go for
the title bout in the UFC.
His second bout in the UFC against Simpson would also be a testimony of Markes’ striking, takedown and submission ability. He would be willing to give his best performance to win the hearts of the judges, UFC fans and the UFC matchmakers. Markes has won seven
of his bouts in the first round which also proves his aggressive skills. UFC and MMA fans would be excited to watch Markes fight Simpson. The Brazilian will not settle for a loss because he is on a winning streak and would not compromise this status.
