More specifically, I'm going to receive I think it's a power mac g3 of g4. I've seen them in school computer labs, a monitor with a blue back. I'm currently on PC Windows XP. DSL works fine on my current computer. I want to switch and see if this DSL will work on that. Good idea or maybe not?

  1. If the MAC uses TCP / IP protocol it will work.  Of course you need to configure the port properly.

If you wish to use both units on the same DSL service, connect the modem to a router and router (wired or wireless whichever you want) to the pcs.

Check your equipment that SBC provided.  You might find that it already has router capability.

  2. The internet line has no idea what OS your running at all so it will work with MAC, Linux, Windows, OS/2, or anyother operating system!

In fact if you just put a small router online - you could use BOTH machines at the same time.. both would work and be internet connected. (May be a better solution if you have to click the "connect" button on XP to get a connection... not an issue if the router connects!)

ADD: ALL internet is TCP/IP  thats how it works, so your Mac will have that, it has too, its all part of the OS and networking!
