Will Serbia be able to perform better at the home soil?
The 2011 FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship is scheduled to take place in the month of July.
A total of 16 best teams from around the world will participate in the tournament, which will be staged at Peru this year. Right now, the aspiring teams are working on their skills to clinch berths in the big competition.
The qualification tournament for the European Teams is set to begin on Wednesday, May 18. The 2010 European silver medallist Serbian team is determined to once again enjoy the limelight. Serbia will appear in the qualification tournament, in order to book
a slot for the world championship.
Serbian team has been placed in Pool A along with teams from Greece, Montenegro, Poland and Portugal. The city of Zrenjanin in Serbia will host the qualification tournament from May 18-22. The Crystall Hall in Zrenjanin is ready to welcome the teams.
Being the host of campaign, Serbia will enjoy certain advantages over the other teams in the group. The enormous support of local fans and home courts will surely provide a competitive edge to Serbian Team. Moreover, head coach of Serbian team Ratko Pavlicevic
has assembled the same team which claimed silver medal last year. The players have great chemistry among them and have the potential to overcome the stronger teams.
The Qualification Tournament would be a test for the Ratko Pavlicevic as well, as he was recently named the head coach of Serbian squad. He coach has put a lot of efforts to prepare his team for the tough competitions.
The upcoming matches will put his abilities to real test. He is determined that his players will take full advantage of the home soil. Previously, Serbia had qualified for the biennial event of FIVB Junior World Championship in 2005.
The team could not qualify for the next two episodes of the championship in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Nonetheless, the team currently enjoys a great form. Players are totally shaped up to demonstrate an incredible show of volleyball and book a slot in
the 2011 FIVB Junior World Championship.
The conditions are favourable for Serbia to prove their endeavours as they will be playing in their own city. Serbia will open the qualification tournament by taking on Portugal. They have bright prospects to do well against visitors.
