Will Swiss Martin Laciga be able to get along with the young partner?
This is probably the first time that 36-year-old Martin Laciga of Switzerland will be playing with a young partner at the SWATCH FIVB World Tour competition.
He recently formed a partnership with 25-year old Jonas Weingart. The Swiss duo is supposed to give their first appearance at the 2011 Brasilia Open, which is coming up in the next week.
The 2011 SWATCH FIVB Beach Volleyball Tour will be opened with the Brasilia Open. The double-gender event is scheduled to start on 17th of April and it will be continued until 23th of April. The Brasilia Open will be hosted by Brazilian city, Rio de Janeiro,
where the world’s renowned beach volleyball players will showcase their mesmerizing skills.
The Brasilia Open has great significance for being the first event featured on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Calendar. It would be a great opportunity for the beach volleyball fans to enjoy their favourite sports on the sands of Rio de Janeiro.
The Swiss team is working on great plans. They are determined to put up a good effort and improve their ranking on the world chart. The team is good mix of an experienced and a young player. Laciga comes with a wealth of experience. He is equipped with all
necessary tools and tricks of the game. On the other hand, the equally proficient Weingart has great potential to perform better.
He has good physique and passion for his game. Moreover, he will be guided by the experienced partner. They will surly create a spark on the centre court. It would be interest to watch them how they overcome the power of resilient rivals at the Brasilia
Open.
In the recent memory, Laciga was interviewed by a local magazine Coopzeitung where he discussed the prospects of upcoming tournament. He also commented about his young partner.
He said, “For me, a young partner is refreshing. At his age we are able to train with more intensity. The challenge is to have the right period of recovery, which is more important now.”
He further added that Jonas is at the perfect age to give out a great performance. Telling about his experience of observing Jonas during the training sessions, Laciga acknowledged his good temperament and behaviour to the game.
There is not much time left in the opening of 2011 Brasilia Open Tournament. As the tournament will start, the situation will become evident and the better teams will rise on the horizon.
