No. The Rays are for real. Anyone who doubts them this late in the season is pretty ignorant. They will be around all september and I think they will win the division. They are all young guys and keep in mind none of them are having a career year. Imagine if someone on that team had forty or more homers. They would be an outstanding team.

i would say it might happen. who knows how a team as young as them is going to react in september? thats a lot of pressure to put on them. if percival can get healthy and anyone else experienced enough to lead them through september, then they got it.

Angels are getting cold. They have lost 4 out of their last 5 games. I thought you can measure these teams by this current series, but that will not be the case. Even if the Angels were playing good ball the Rays have players out that can do some damage.

In view of this thread the answer is no. You have one streaky team in the Redsox that can hurt you. The Rays will be there deep into the playoffs. Right now I like their chances of getting into the WS.

That being said GO ANGELS step up and show em' what your about!!!

If you would have asked me that in the beginning of the year, I would have said yes... however after seeing how they continue to play through out the season, I would have to say no.  New York is done, Boston has explosive players, but are a mess.  L.A. seems to be coming together, even though they are running cold lately.  tampa and L.A in the american league championship series

As a Red fan who always roots for the team with a sub- $100 million dollar payroll I would like to see the Rays win it all.

Since my beloved Reds probably won't end up even .500.

I guess it's time.  They are only beating the best teams in baseball right now with their franchise player (Crawford) gone and their ROY and team MVP (Longoria) out and their closer that is spending his 3rd stint on the DL.

Who cares that a utility player has more home runs that 2/3 of the league.

Could they still collapse, sure, but so could any team.

They beat the Angels today.  Just believe they are real this year and not pretending.  nice to see them ahead of the Red Sox and yankees and not taking up the cellar.

As much as i hate to admit this but the Rays are thriving right now . No team in the american east is playing as good as they have been all season  . d**n that hurt to say that(go yankees) ! They got off to such a great start that even if they play .500 baseball they are shoe in to win the East . Now as for the American League as whole , they do not stand a chance to beat the Angels who are clearly the best team in the American League . Its a great story of a team that after so many years of being non competitive has finally turn things around and have become a viable contender in there division . Now the only thing they will have to do is live with the 2nd year curse like many teams who have had break out seasons but cant win the following season . Teams that come to mind : ROCKIES, TIGERS, CARDINALS,WHITESOX, are just a few of the teams who have faltered the following season after a big turn around the year before . In the mean time to all RAYS fans , enjoy it cause it is very, very,very hard to repeat and stay consistently winning year after year .
