Will Tandi Cuningham shine at the ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters?
This is a question that everyone is asking and the answer lies in a careful analysis of her performance in the recent tournaments.
This year, Tandi Cuningham has demonstrated a seesaw performance. In some events, she played great and in others, her performance was so bad that even the diehard fans had trouble with it.
She started the year with her best performance. She played in the Lalla Meryem Cup and stood second with a score of 275. She missed the first place with a margin of three strokes. The other player in the second place was Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord.
This second place also marked the start of a bad patch for her that lasted three events. She missed the cut in all these events and led many experts to believe that the South African star is finished as a golfer.
The first of these three events was the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. She scored a total of 154 points and missed the cut by one stroke.
The next event was the UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi, where she missed the cut by three strokes. Her score was 147 points. The last tournament of this patch was the Deloitte Ladies Open, where she scored 149 points.
She managed to perform well in the next tournament, the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open. She scored 217 points and stood 14th.
At this point, it appeared as if Tandi Cuningham has overcome the problem and is on her way to a great performance in the next tournament. Sadly, this was not the case.
The next event was Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open. Cuningham entered the event confidently but again missed the cut. This was devastating news for her and her fans.
The next event was very crucial for her. The Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters was a minor tournament on the LET calendar but its importance for Cuningham cannot be overstated. She managed to regain her form and stood 20th with a score of 214
points.
In the light of these facts, many experts have drawn the conclusion that Cuningham stands an average chance of making it to the upper half of the leaderboard.
