Probably not. Texas is heavily invested in the war on drugs and the prison industrial complex which is really just a jobs program for former military members who are not fit for private sector employment.

I live in Oregon (same rules as Cali).  I think that the medical marijuana laws will become nation-wide laws... eventually.  It may not be in our lifetimes.  Texas lawmakers will learn that marijuana is neat-o and they need to go after harder drugs.
