Will Thai basil grow roots in the water?

I just got some Thai basil, I already put them in the water, will they grow roots just like the mints?

or should I put them in moist soil instead?

  1. I know for a fact Basil will grow roots in water, so I am pretty sure Thai basil will do the same.


  2. Yes, put them in water and place the container where it can get enough light... but not in the sun.  It'll take about a week before you see the root.
