Will The Sims 2 Double Deluxe mess up my laptop if...?

Do you think The Sims2 Double Deluxe (which includes the sims2, nightlife expansion, && celebration stuff packs already on the disk) will slow down my comp? It's a Dell Inspiron 1520 and I think it has a duel processor.

The colored one.

If you need to look it up, the product information stated the expansion packs here:

Please help, because I am getting this soon and need to know.

  1. the only way your computer will be slower is when youre doing something WHILE playing sims.

    it wont be slow :)

  2. The main issue will be the video card - what sort is it?  Is it an integrated card (usually not too good with the game) or a separate video card with its own memory (much, much better)?  If it's an integrated chip, can you put a better card in which will supercede the integrated card?  You can check on the Sims website which integrated video cards are supported by the game.  Some are, but don't get your hopes up, there are only about 3 integrated video card supported by the game.  The game is not really designed for laptops.

The other big issue is RAM.  How much RAM do you have?  Ideally, you need a minimum of 512MB, preferably 1GB.
