  1. no. it has to be for a named person on your account.

Send the cheque back and get them to reissue, or get your dad to cash it.

  2. The answer is definitely not.

  3. No it won',t the cheque is for your father not you.  You shouldn't try to cash it as I believe it could be counted as theft especially as you've said you and your father aren't speaking. If you are entitled to the money speak to the sender and ask them to cancel the first cheque and send another in your own name.

  4. you cannot cash a cheque not in your name

why do you want to steel your dads money

  5. No cheque will not be cleared.

Because you cannot deposit the  cheque into  your account which is being sent in name. Mr Michael carling

since the account holder name  does not match it will not be deposited in the account also

  6. I think if the cheque is not crossed, it can be paid into your account. However, the collecting banker, has any query, tell them that the payee is your dad.

  7. no - i can't even deposit my husbands cheques into my account unless he endorses it to me on the back - i doubt that helps if your father isn't on speaking terms though.  You could call them but I doubt they'll do it.

  8. If it is in your dad's name then I would send it to your dad.  Why are you trying to cash his cheque?  The answer to your question though is no they wont cash it.
