Palm, Inc. doesn't lower the prices of their Palm handhelds because their smart phones are cheaper.

It's possible for the iPod touch to get cheaper. If it doesn't drop at the most one week after July 11th (and no rumors surface) iPhone 3G release, then I wouldn't hold my breath.

Most likely they'll update to 64 GB, then get rid of the 16 GB, making the 32 GB $399 and the 64 GB $499. But that's a stretch.

Maybe they'll throw in a GPS instead.
