Would This Poem For Creative Writing Class Earn an A even With A Atheist Teacher.

Searching blindly in the dark

Jesus found me

Opened my ears to hear the angels hark,

Opened my eyes so I could see that to the father he was the key

On my path he was my light,

In him I found comfort during fright,

His presence brought true delight

He only walked on earth sinless and upright,

He bought me with his body and blood,

Through a sacrifice only he could make,

And when it happened the temples curtain tore,

And the whole earth quaked,

For he died, and it was my sins that were the sake

But death could not contain him

For he rose on day three

Conquering death and its hold on me,

Now all believers shout HE IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN INDEED, in jubilee

For in he we are saved

Only threw him can you come

For he is the way the truth and the life

For he layed down his life

That we may be saved and forgiven our sins

So, Kingdom Come,

Washed clean in the blood of Christ I come,

Through the hands of death and the devil I am from,

Though my sins are like scarlet, white as snow they have become,

But not of my own works, so I cannot boast,

But threw a man with many titles,

From Jesus of Nazareth, to Messiah, to Christ, to Son of God,

All of these names apply, and his praises have no end,

But I am proud to say, I call him My Lord, My Savior, My friend.

  1. First, you used the spelling "threw" a couple of times when you meant "Through".  And it should be "laid down", not "layed down".

Definitely a very good piece of work.  Was the assignment to write on a subject of your choosing, or in a certain style?  Sometimes students submit a favorite piece that simply didn't fit the assignment.

So I think this should get a good mark.  A good teacher shouldn't give a lower grade just because not religious.  And shouldn't give a higher grade just because it pleases hin religiously.

  2. Opened my eyes so I could see that the father was the key.

Death couldn't contain him, for he rose three days later.  conquering death, and it's hold on me.  Now all believers shout He has risen He has risen

note be careful about spelling you will get a better grade    through    check mine with yours made a few changes hope it helps.

  3. That was an amazing poem!

If they're a fair grader, and don't let their personal opinions get in the way of their grading.

  4. Ignoring the subject matter or the words, your rhyming patterms are really uneven.  I find it very awkward to read.  The grade would depend on the assignment.  If you haven't learned anything about poetry, and were just asked to rhyme, then maybe a B.  If you have, I'm afraid it would be a lower grade, even to a born-again teacher.
