Will Tiger Woods' year be a success if he remains major-victory-less?
Tiger Woods, well what can be said about this guy?  Who battled through accidents, immoral allegations and a then divorce, he is now back again at the top of world in the game of golf.
After going through so much, Tiger still found his game, although he is not yet up to the standard which he has set for himself but he is certainly back.
Taking a look back at Tiger’s performance this year, it seems that the former world number one is back to his peak form.
He has played only 12 events so far. He withdrew from one due to injury problems. At the Wells Fargo Championship and The Greenbrier Classic, he missed the cut narrowly but in rest of the events, he showed some great skills and character.
All his finishes are among the top-25 in the nine events that he has made the cut in, so far. Woods has won three tournaments this year, which is more than anybody else on the tour.
Moreover, he is currently leading the points chart for the Ryder Cup team and leads the FedEx Cup rankings by a mile.
Tiger’s victories came at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance, and at AT&T National. Apart from that, he has a second place finish, and a third place finish as well.
His performances at the majors have been pretty encouraging as well. At the Masters, he was not up to his best because he was suffering from an injury in the tournament.
However, at the US Open and The Open Championship, he was in very sublime touch. He was leading the US Open at one point and he finished impressively at the Royal Lytham Golf Course as well.
As far as the pundits are concerned, to them, his year has been a big success. He has been the best player on the tour even after undergoing so much in the past few years. He leads the FedEx Cup ranking and he has won more money than any other player on
the tour.
However, Tiger, as always, has set his standards pretty high. To him, this year is not a success, it would have been one had he won a major.
Tiger started brilliantly at the PGA Championship, he led the pack after round two.
To me, Tiger is just a little harsh on himself, I believe that he has already achieved more than what anybody thought he would do at the tour.
However, this is the thing that separates him from the rest, as he sets his standards extremely high and then does whatever he can to achieve them.
